Playing with different look and feel to the images and to the post, just playing overall I guess. Trying to learn. Been looking at too many random pics from film cameras.

i like the first but the second doesn't do much for me. Keep on experimenting - it's a great way to learn.

the second one I was trying to include a parked car, haha. So I guess that compromised it.

The blob in the top right of the first one is an SUV though, just can't tell. =)

I was playin with my 50 f1.4, probably should have used a little higher f stop, and also I probably should have tried to be more steady. Sometimes I just wander around taking pictures and don't really "set" myself right, like, don't get really steady then take the pic. I am finding this to be an annoying habit as good shots are messed up by me moving just a little too much.

In my experimentation over the years, I've come to learn that attempting to include something in the background that is going to get lost in the background blur rarely ever works out. It just ends up eating up valuable space in the frame. That said, I'd like to see more of the flower in the first one, rather than trying to make room for the SUV. The second shot is kind of cool, but perhaps a lower angle would add a little something to it? That is the fun thing about experimenting. Do what feels right. If it works out, super. If it doesn't, you can pass it off as fine art! =]
