Well, in fact it was quite refreshing to see that someone is actually enjoying their gear instead of having unrealistic expectations of gear they think they absolutely need to take better pics...

Your photo looked sharp, so your camera and macro lens are indeed working well! Obviously this was not an exercise in composition, so there's no need to criticize that.

I am almost afraid to ask what the picture was of before it was yanked.... the words macro, bad composition, and crap photo scare me???
