I am going in July also!! Is there some kind of observation deck off Bellagio or were you staying there? I would love to get that angle.

I was staying at the Bellagio, 27th floor.

You can get the opposite view from the Paris Tower observation deck. If you have time, I would recommend getting there around dusk and staying past sunset for some good shots.

Great shots. I tried to get a similar shot from the top of the eiffel tower but the chain link fence just kept getting in my way. Plus the horde of people and the cop up there really slowed me down. Do you mind sharing how you got that shot?

Stefan

This was my first trip up the Eiffel tower, but they have small squares cut out randomly throughout the cage. Not sure if they added them recently. There is enough space to get a lens through, but it does make it hard to get a good angle/composition, but it is better than trying to shoot through the cage. Also, no tripods. :(

I was up there for a couple of hours (went up just before sunset) and had to wait for some of the crowd to head back down to get some shots. I recommend going up on a weekday as well, less crowded.

Here's a couple more from the Eiffel tower:
