With regards to the tripod, you'll want to call in advance before you bring the tripod to one of the locations. If you google "stratosphere tripod", you'll read stories of people being denied entry with a tripod. As far a Paris, I understand that the observation deck is kind of small for a tripod.

Last time I was in Vegas was for SHOT Show last January. I was going to go to Ghost Bar at the Palms because I understand that they had one of the best skyline vantage points. But it pretty much rained all three nights I was there and I didn't feel like pano'ing in the rain.

I'm thinking about making the same trip. Are cameras generally accepted anywhere?

The one for sure off limits place would be the casino floor.

I spent that week in Vegas for the SHOT show too. That rain was terrible; however, it made the drive home through Cajon Pass very interesting! I ended up walking the strip at night with nifty fifty after it stopped raining. I got lots of night and indoor shots though.

Can I take your picture? "I'll swallow your soul!" Well, my camera will at least.

Wish to thank everyone for their tips on shooting Las Vegas. We stayed for three days and between the keeping the wife happy for our 25th and house hunting, I didn't get a lot of shooting done. Darn, guess I'll have to go back soon and try again.

Again thanks to all for the tips,
Craig
