Recently, I bought a used 100-400L and I got to try it out at Forsyth Park in Savannah, GA. I am quite pleased with the sharpness!

I was on the fence between the two lenses, but was offered a good deal on the 100-400 and liked the fact that it has IS. I'm still getting my feet wet with the DSLR, so I'm using a few zooms to get a feel for what focal lengths I tend to use a lot. That's the beauty about CPOTN and Fredmiranda...you can sell your used lenses without taking much of a hit.

Nice shot. great lens. It works great with tube extenders also. This little bird I shot with my 100-400 and the .25 tube extender http://www.flickr.com/photos/smgeorge/4415776950/ (external link) . Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
