Is the 550D a beast compared to the 400D?

550D should be closer to 7D than 400D. From what i understand the 7D has faster frame rate, better AF and a more sturdy construction and some people prefer the wheel to the rebel cursor buttons. it is also larger and heavier.

only you can decide if those are worth the extra cash.
