I am 6*3 and was looking at getting a monopod. But all I could find from Manfrotto was a 161cm 5 foot 3 inch one

Does anyone have this one? http://www.bhphotovideo.com …_with.html#specifications (external link)

I am looking to spend 100-140 for one and a head. I think the head would only put it up another two inches :(

I just dont want to be hunched over

I'm 195 cm (almost 6'5") and my Gitzo GM2541 (listed as 160 cm - 5'3") is easily tall enough for me. If you think about it - a head adds around 3 inches, the viewfinder is 3 inches above the top of the head and your eyes are around 6 inches lower than the top of your head. So your actual monopod only needs to be 1 foot shorter than you to have the viewfinder at eye level.

But the best thing to do is try and get to a shop where you can try one out.

" I don't want to be all hunched over" - why not? ;) Depends on what you're shooting I guess.

I'm 6'5" and use the Manfrotto 679b - 162cm.

I scrunch down a little when it's fully extended, but really spend more of my time kneeling or sitting when using the monopod.

I am 6'6" and recently bought the Giottos MML 3290B and it is PLENTY tall enough for me... They advertise 74" maximum height and it goes well over my head with my camera attached. For being 6'3" you could probably get away with 67-70".

Like said above, once you add a head, camera body, etc... The inches add up!

I highly recommend the Giottos... Excellent monopod!

I have the giottos too. I am 6'4 and that monopod is very good. The extra height has come in handy on uneven ground, like a hillside or rocky area.

I just bought the Giottos MTL 9271B tripod to go along with my monopod... Can't wait! The Giottos is very high quality IMO... Hope the tripod is just as good! (I don't see why it wouldn't!)

Sigma Pi, the Giottos MH5580 P-Pod monopod you linked has a non-removeable head. The Manfrotto 234RC Swivel/Tilt Head with the Giottos MML 3290B monopod looks like a good combination...and within your budget.

But don't put anything too heavy on the 234RC.

Thats what i was thinking too maybe a few extra inches if the monopod is a bit sunk down or if i lean the monopod to my instep.

I also have a 679B. I am not as massive as you guys, but at 6' tall, with gripped cameras (I haven't tried ungripped since all my cameras are gripped), I have never use the monopod to max height.
