I took about 2,200 images Sunday and I am surprised how many "half a planes" were flying. Some were going up, down, left and right, right out of frame. Focus wasn't always easy either. Here are four that were lightly tweaked in PS, but look like promising keepers.

Good ones!

I am surprised how many "half a planes" were flying.

:D I suspect that your pans may not have been smooth with "follow through". Everyone get's that at first:

I definitely need to work on the panning. But this was also with a 300mm which didn't make it any easier. In some respects I was so close it was more difficult than I'd imagined. With the jets, if you lose it, its gone. It may have gone straight, or straight up. One maneuver the Viper made was going from 300 feet, to straight up 3 miles. I was using a mono pod but was lifting it off the ground for some verticals.

Thanks for the links.

Last photo of the B17 is awesome with the paint wearing on the top of the wings. Turn that to B/W, add some aging, and you could never guess what year it was taken.

Nice stuff. If you have a link to any other online galleries with shots from that show, I'd love to see them.

Nice captures. The 17 and 25 definately look like they need a paint job.

It takes a lot of cans of Rust-Oleum to paint these.

They have character this way.
