By the time it comes out, some of you guys will be so excited you will buy it at any price. That's Sigma's evil plan.

Thought it was a Q2 release, or summer release at latest?

If you think the wait for the Sigma 85/1.4 Aspherical HSM is a long wait. Just consider how those of us waiting for the Samyang 35/1.2 Aspherical are suffering... we've known about the lens since SEPTEMBER 2009.

I was waiting for a 85mm Sigma, but then couldn't wait any longer :D and got a Canon 85mm f/1.8. Very happy with it so far!

k'mon sigma!

if sigma's HSM is faster than canon's USM on the 85L ii, that'll win over some wedding photographers!

manually focusing a 35, no thanks.

portrait primes, sure thing :D

I'm only excited about the Tokina 16-28 right now. I'm not satisfied at all with Canon's wider than 24mm selection.

/ Hopes it's less than $1000. To be honest 800 or so would be a comfortable price point.

Why ?

Becuase the 85L is so slow they miss shots ?
