I'm thinking of buying an i-gotU GPS Travel Logger (GT-600) for a spot of geotagging.

Has anyone used this with a Canon 5D Mark II?

It should not matter what camera you use. As long as the clock is set properly in your camera and you can download a .gpx file from the datalogger, you should be able to geotag your photos using a third party program (I use HoudahGeo with my iMac and 40D, www.houdah.com (external link)).

I don't have any experience with this particular device, but I read the data specs on the weblink you posted. Maybe I missed it, but this device does not appear to have WAAS (wide area augmentation system) technology, which allows gps tracking down to about 3 meters. If accuracy is important to you, you may want a device that has this feature.

Being as David is in the UK, where WAAS doesn't operate, I doubt he's going to be that bothered.

I've also got an i-gotU, but I haven't had time to unpack it yet. But it does look like it should work OK.

Is the UK not covered by EGNOS either?

Yes, it is.

It was a bit of a rhetorical question. ;):D
