So I was looking for a little feedback about what some people set teir Zenfolio prices as. I know it might be private to some, but Just kinda looking to get an idea. I know theres the whole "It depends what you feel you work is worth" debate, but I don't want to scare people away with high prices. I also don't expect to make a bajillion dollars doing this. But if I could go to a little league game, shoot some photos of the kids and hand out my buisness card... I want parents to feel they are getting a fair deal.

The base prices seem very low, but also an 8x10 at Rite Aid or CVS is like 2-3$

Should I create seperate price lists for such photos, including engagements and a seperate price list for "Fine Art" work?

Anyone with a solid structure please help me out!!

Warning this type of activity might be construed as an attempt at "Price Fixing" which is illegal.

Classic example of price fixing is where a gas station conspires with another gas station and agreement is made to both sell gas at the same price in order to make a reasonable profit. I dunno if this looks like price fixing to me, just another general "how much do I charge" thread to which my answer usually is:

OP: Even if you aren't looking to make a bajillion dollars doing this you still should do this:

Yah, definately not price fixing. I don't actually really care about the dolla ammount you choose. I'm more looolking for a structure. Do you charge less for print of weddings/engagments/family than for your prints?

If I wante to, I could just go to "post your zenfolio" thread and do research that way.
I'm more concerned with the method and reasoning behind a price structure.

So I was looking for a little feedback about what some people set teir Zenfolio prices as.

Go to the Zenfolio user forums and look at the e-commerce section. Most of the people posting in there are selling prints or digital downloads on Zenfolio. Follow the links to their sites and look at the pictures that are similar to yours to see what they are charging.

The base prices seem very low, but also an 8x10 at Rite Aid or CVS is like 2-3$

Rite Aid & CVS are not selling landscapes, portraits, or event photography. They are selling sheets of photo paper and drops of ink, and they are making a profit on every single one at $3 each. They don't know or care what the final image will be when determining their prices.

I have a ton of price lists. Pretty much make one for each different category you need one for! (and sizes)

Same here. I have been working on mine lately and I already have a standard portrait(senior pictures, engagements, newborn,...) markup list and a family price list(doing senior pictures for family members, i hardly make a few cents off of prints). There is nothing wrong with setting a markup. How else will you make money?

You can set prices for folders, galleries, and individual photos.

IMAGE: http://i765.photobucket.com/albums/xx291/themadmanazn/Prices.png

Just select the folder/gallery/file you want to price and use the Print Ordering Function on the right side

EDIT: What account type do you have? You need Premium to do this I think (thats what I have anyways)

ugh, please dont compare print prices with cheap prints from CVS or where ever. The customer is paying for your artistic work that is on that print and not just the paper. That is if your skill level is high enough to be called "artistic".

Several having given you the answer to your questions and myself I have given the answer twice. Your extreme lack of observation is remarkably amusing, however for the sake of being civil I humbly apologize.

You clearly misunderstood. Your link was helpful, so thanks. But when I said I couldn't figure out how to set individual prices... I was referring to the actual changing of each gallery. As the post 2 below yours has clearly showed. Thanks tho
