This weekend, I shot an engagement session for a wedding I'm covering next summer. These two were absolutely a priviledge to work with, and I'm pretty happy with the results (these are some of my favourites)...but obviously I'd like to hear what you guys think!

A few more pics are on the blog (external link)

You deffinately have a feel to them, but I am personally not too fond of the processing.

although im a fan of the flare and the washed out desaturated look i think you went a little overboard on these...

Are you a big fan of Simply Bloom Photography? lol. I think as a whole the shots are okay but I agree the processing is too much. I do really like the composition of the last shot though, very pretty.

I am super cool n' stuff.

I like your idea, but agree with others, it's a little overdone. Number 8 looks about right.

Unfortunately way too much of the essential detail is lost with flaring. That said, someone needs to teach me how to do that!

go on cs4 and add an overlay layer, mess around with the opacity, until you reach a desire contrast.

These are really pretty! I do agree that the processing is a bit overdone, but I love them nonetheless. Great work!

See, the thing about processing is it's a personal taste..... For you, it prolly works, for others, it might be a bit much....but I think if it's your style, stick with it. I am personally diggin' the PP, but I'm a fan of flared/ vintage style shots (I'm trying to master the process, myself)
If the couple knew that this was your style to begin with, then that's probably what they hired you for.
That being said, I would maybe supply the couple with the "normal" edits, as well, so they can choose which photo that they'd want to print.
#1 and #8 really stand out to me as AWESOME

I love the processing. I agree that I would also supply them with other edits as well, but I love this processing. The last one is my favorite! I also love #4

Thanks everyone for the feedback and comments!

Yeah, I'm sure you can guess that I'm a fan of the vintage/flare look. The couple was definitely into it. I've only posted here some of my favourite shots...there are dozens more that are not this strong.

Thank you for your interpretation. As mentioned above, it is a matter of taste. I can see that you have regained some of the mid/shadow detail, but my personal preference (i.e., taste) is to leave it brighter. It just "feels" dark to me. Again, matter of taste; the couple always gets a mix of pp styles from which to choose.

Also, the prints will be a little bit darker anyway.

I looked up Simply Bloom Photography, and yes, I believe I am a fan :)
