Hello,

I`m from germany and i`m new in this forum.
the first: i love this canon forum is it better than the german forum.

i have a question:
i travel every year for one month with my wife to China. This year i got to Shanghai and visit the EXPO and City and we go to the parents in north China.
I have sold my EF 24-70L and my EOS 7D

I have ordered a 5D Mark II with a 135L
But i will ordered the 24L II and the 50L (for my sold 24-70)

my interest are street, people, landscape and available light situations.
are this 3 lenses a good part on the 5D Mark II for my travel?

i will not a zoom, i think with prime lenses i have a better image quality and more luminous intensity.

later i will buy a 35L and the 85L and maybe a TS . i love and need wide angel so i think the 24 are a goode choice. And someone say the 50L have not a good image quality and it is not so good. i have see the photos form the 50L and i must say: woow, that is a incredible lens.

bye René

Sounds like OP is trying to go all primes as the 24-70L zoom was sold for a 50L and 24L.

24L all the way!!!!!

And yes they are very good for travel. Heres what I take when I go.
2 5Ds, 24L, 35L, 85L and 200 2L. I do just fine with no zooms in fact I would say better than just fine.

perfect combo ...
It all fit in jacket's pockets + RS-5 (for the 5DMKII + 50L1.2)
of course not a zoom .. it's a bit longer and you will loose outdoor night shots, isolation power with smooth bokeh, indoor shots in food shops, restaurants etc etc even MFd s a bit longer

On a full frame I use less often 16mm than F1.4 to F2.8 ...
I am waiting for a samyang 16F2.8 but I won't use it as a walk around lens

24L II is a great lens so is 50L and 135L. I think you should be able to capture everything with this combo.

I just got back from a trip over the weekend and used the 24L II and 5DII combo exclusively. Great for low light capability and stunning for landscapes. For China I would think wide is the way to go. If you are into flowers then bring the 24L II and 100L :D

IMO 14L has little use (in comparison to 24L) on a FF.

Bad advice. 1.4 > 2.8.
