NEVER AGAIN ... NEVER AGAIN ... NEVER AGAIN ... NEVER AGAIN ... NEVER AGAIN ... NEVER AGAIN ... NEVER AGAIN ... NEVER AGAIN ... ARRRGH! I am thinking of painting a target on my computer and going Postal against it.

I expect to see the blue screen of death any moment now. I need a geek to administer the last rites. Even Solitaire is so slow that it seems frozen. Typing this post is worse than using an iPhone to type messages on the forum. I am just hoping that my external backup drive has everything because everything is so sluggish that it is too late to try to do anything now. Even typing this message is the pits -- no cursor and the text is lagging my typing by about 15 seconds. Gasp!

Bill (if you are able to get this), is everything saved on your computer alone? (!)

Is there any way to get all of the data into someone else's hands to finally finish this?

I do have most of it, we're not in danger of losing anything. We're at the stage to create the "gold" track to upload.

Yes, thanks for jumping in to help them out. Very happy about a light at the end of this long tunnel.

I am currently the long pole in the tent. I owe Aram a couple template files so that he will be able to use my InDesign CS3 files He is using InDesign CS6. My computer started bogging down in early December and then a bit later , it would just stop (or go slow slow that it seemed to be stopped). My troubleshooting indicates a HDD problem and, like a fool, I built the system with a RAID 0 configuration. Currently, the computer is almost a brick. I am in the process of building up a new system. I had been think of getting a custom built one, but the price seemed to be way too much. I have always rolled my own so I think that is the way that I will go again. I am off to Fry's today to check on some hardware availability and prices. I am building the new machine to be specifically designed to be CS6 compliant as I plan to upgrade to that very soon from CS5.5. It will be great to nove up to a 64-bit system.

I am still trying to decide on several things such as whether to go with a nVidia Quadro 2000 workstation video card or a nVidia GeForce 580 or 680 card (the 680 is not on the Adobe list of tested and approved cards).

My apologies for the delay. I had high hopes of getting this done a couple months ago.

My files are all backed up (fingers crossed) so I should be OK when I get the new machine going.

Just a bump to see how things are progressing.

We appreciate all the hard work from the book committee and look forward to seeing the finished product

I am just about finished with assembling the hardware on my computer. I need to check everything out thoroughly before I apply power (fingers crossed). Things were delayed a couple weeks when my mom went into the hospital.

Just waiting for this next...
"I ran out of gas! I--I had a flat tire! I didn't have enough money for cab fare! My tux didn't come back from the cleaners! An old friend came in from out of town! Someone stole my car! There was an earthquake! A terrible flood! Locusts! IT WASN'T MY FAULT, I SWEAR TO GOD!!!"
