It's only been 3 years since the photos were chosen. These books take time to produce.

When this all started, I had no children. I now have a son who is 2 1/2 years old and a daughter who is 9 months old. Still waiting on this book, though.

When this started I was 63. How old will I be when the book appears? Who knows.

I'm afraid I simply don't understand whats taken so long, the images are already digitised, add a simple intro from our host of this site and a few details about each photographer and thats it I'd have thought. Everything else in the publishers job.

You are pretty much incorrect about that..
Blurb is not really a publisher, they are a printer by order.
Everything must come to them complete...

Not to begrudge the work of the team, but if the pictures and description info was put into a publicly available file for download, I would probably opt to put my own little book together just to have it and not have to watch this thread for what could be another 6-12 months.

I understand the team wants to "get it perfect", but most of us just want to "get it period".

The US national debt has grown by $3 TRILLION dollars since this started. What's the over/under on what the debt will be when this is finally finished?

Thanks, Aram. I don't think some of these nasty personally insulting comments are worthy of reply. But, for the benefit of others, the project originally began with around three dozen volunteers. I was among them with a very minor role. For various reasons that I am not privy to nor none of my business the project went dormant. Ed found out about the status and volunteered to take over the reins. He then contacted various team members including me and once again the project was alive with a team of a handful of people who were determined to get this done. I personally have put in a couple thousand hours. I am not doing it for the fantastic salary nor the fame and fortune.

Anyway, after the other book committee members finished their assignments, the remainder of the work was up to Ed and me. I know that I was not quite aware of the full scope of the task that lay ahead for us. That is a good thing because we did not give up in dispair. Then along came Aram in his shining armor and depth of knowledge in desktop publishing to give us the energy and knowledge that we sincerely needed.

It really does hurt to hear the nasty mocking comments when I have poured so much personal effort into this project. Perhaps next time the cynics can show how is done the right way. Sometimes real life intervenes with things that we do for fun. I won't bother with detailing current status or stumbling blocks along the way because it won't make the process go any faster for the impatient. Meanwhile, we will souldier on in spite of those whose "contribution" towards completion is taking cheap shots at those who actually do the work.

Excuse the spelling errors. Typing on an iPhone with big fingers is not my favorite thing.

Bill, Aram.. I don't think these people have any idea about the scope of this project..
I again thank you for all the time and energy that you have put into this project.. for free.
I'm sorry that a few small people have such bad manners..

Someone needs to explain to me why on earth that amount of labour needs to be put into it by so many people. Something very odd going on.
