I am saving up for my next piece of equipment. (Yes, saving bc I have too many cc bills. Saving little bits here and there for my hobby. ;))

I have soo many things I WANT, but what do I NEED?

My current equipment is in my siggy. My list includes:

Canon 50mm f1.4
Adobe Lightroom (I don't like a ton of pp, but some is nice.)
Speedlite (I haven't decided on a specific unit.)

I like to take pictures of family, some stills, and landscape.

Any suggestions on which would improve my photos and be the most useful at the amateur level?

Unfortunately, I only have dial up service avaible in my area, so I can't share any of my photos. :(

Canon 50D. 70-300mm f/4-5.6 is, 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 is, 50mm 1.4, 22-55mm 5.6, 430 EX II

Flash will probably help your photos the most.

+1 for flash.

It will add a whole new dimension to your family shots.

Then, you can use a PC cord as a very cheap way to experiment with off camera lighting (assuming your d50 is in fact a 50D?)
