So I know the major differences between the 5Dii and 7D.. The 5Dii is full frame and has superior IQ and less noise at higher iso settings while the 7D is faster and has better autofocus.

I am having trouble with some of the other aspects however as I am trying to decide which camera to buy:

- What differences are there with the video? I am having trouble figuring out if the 5Dii matches the 7D in that regard especially as the 5Dii has had to have some firmware updates to improve this aspect so I am unsure where it stands now. Does the 5D shoot full frame video (and if so is that not a big advantage?) What else differentiates the two in that regard?
- Is the 5Dii less well sealed than the 7D? To what extent?
- How big is the AF gap? I don't think that AF is such a large issue for stills for me, but for video it may be. Is the AF on the 5Dii still acceptable? I am coming from a 400D so possible comparisons to that would be nice.

Anything else I should know about the differences? I am leaning more towards the 5Dii at this point but I want to be sure I understand all of the aspects where the 7D is superior so I can decide whether or not to head in that direction instead.

Just on top of my head.

- Video. 5D2 can't do 720p while 7D can. Both can do Full HD 1080p
- How weather sealed are they?... not sure but I wouldn't wanna take pictures if its starting to raining.
- I think your 400D AF is about as good as 5D2 while 7D's AF is a significantly better.
- 7D got 8 FPS while 5D2 can only manage to do 3.5ish FPS.

I guess the AF should be o.k. I do not plan on relying on it too much. The speed and lack of 720p do not concern me too much.

I guess with the video firmware updates the 5Dii is quite capable in that regard.

Cheers
