Yeah it was a bit over five years ago when I bought my Canon 20D and was just utterly clueless about almost every aspect of photography. Fortunately I had a few friends at the time that were full time professionals who gave me a lot of good advice and were okay with me pulling their ear. So now I'm only moderately clueless about photography...

Then about four years ago I started shooting on a part time basis, both assisting a few photographers but also shooting some of my own work, and that's when I really started buying gear. It has been nice when the revenue I make from my photography can pay for this gear and still make a good bit after the expenses are paid (but it's a lot of hard work as well).

As for gear... this is just my camera case. I have another four cases of lighting and studio related gear, plus all the big stuff that's too big for cases, like Superboom's, C-Stands, background, etc.

I should add that I wouldn't own 80% of this stuff if it was just a hobby... I do okay but there is no way I could remain a happily married man if I spent this much gear on a hobby.

My Gear: Doesn't Matter, but I have more than my fair share of it.

I borrowed a friends RebelXT I kind of shot this without a lot of planning, if I would have thought about it in a bit more advance I would have borrowed another friends MkII.

It's kind of a delima how do you photograph all of your camera gear? So I borrow one for shots like this:
