Nice! We all have styles. My style would have been a larger aperture in both images to give me a shorter DOF and probably a longer lens. (especially on #2)

I agree. Not bad, but would be much nicer with a shallower DOF.

thanks.ya true but sometimes i get scared with shallow dof because sometimes i screw up on the focus lol

In image #1 the subject is stationary. Shouldn't be a focusing issue. On #2 use AI servo to track your subject and you'll be spot on. Hardest image to take is when they are coming directly at you.......AI Servo! um......you ARE a Canon Shooter......aren't you?

I agree, step down a little more as much as your kit will let you. Adds a much better feel for close ups.

this wasnt a kit lens,its a sigma 24-70 but ya once u zoom the doff gets more critical
