Im trying to clean the dust out from underneath my lcd screen cover. What is the best way to take it off without damaging everything?

Get hold of it with a suction cup and pull. Some people have reported that warming it gently with a hair dryer helps it come loose easier.

Is the double sided adhesive strip around the edge of the LCD protector reusable ? or do you need a new one when you put back the LCD proctector

Some people have successfully reused it. If you're replacing the cover, I'd get fresh; if you're just out to clean under it like OP is, I think I'd try to reuse and put on some other double-stick tape if it didn't come off cleanly.

You can reuse it if it's not broken when you remove the cover. I reused my 1dmkii a couple of times, until it wouldn't stick anymore. I bought new doublestick tape from uscamera.com ... it's good to buy 2 or 3 just in case...it's really sticky peeling out of the tape and you'll ruin one or 2 :)

My thought is why bother? Dust under the LCD cover isn't hurting anything and it certainly doesn't effect the image. I can't see removing it and trying to reuse the adhesive for that reason. The only reason I can see for pulling the LCD cover would be to replace it with a new one if it became seriously scratched.

well, there is a lot of dust under my lcd cover, and it affects my ability to view the images in the sunlight because the sun is bouncing off the dust inside of it. Its to the point where on some of the screen I can only see dust specs and not the image underneath. the screen itself is unscratched, so why bother buying a new lcd screen?

If there is a ton of dust underneath, I'd suspect poor adhesion of the existing adhesive layer, and not worth trying to re-use it!
