I'm not asking a "What should I charge" thread, instead how do you go about charging a family for photos.

Theres a few ways I can see this going. Not sure which one is more common. I'm starting to get referred to friends of friends for E-Shoot and Family work. This will be my first "Non-friend courtesy shoot"

Do you charge them just for the time your there, do some PP and give them a CD of the best images?

Not charge for the time, but charge them for a CD of high res images they can print off wherever they want?

Charge for time, and have them purchase prints off your website/Zen?

Charge them a little higher price but give them prints of their preference within reason?

I thought you were talking about your own family.

Sorry...

I charge to go shoot, not much as I'm just starting out and then have prices listed on my site/blog for prints. I pp 20-40 shots for them to chose from. If they order over $150 worth of prints, they get all the edited proofs 4x5 for free. Not sure if that's the "right" way but it seems to work well for me.
