I have a 50d its only about 2 months old, i have not had any problems with it at all untill now. the last time I used it it worked fine , loaded pics on computer and put it away in my camera bag. Now, i pull it out today to use it and it wont turn on:( Ive tried everything checked lens connections, batteries , took out the clock battery, made sure cf was in right and door closed. Im going nuts here and the closest best buy is 3 hrs from my house. Please tell me im missing something and its something simple, any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

the only thing I can think of is a totally zapped battery or battery connection... when you check the battery to make sure its charged, did it show a fulll charge? Also, how long was it stored in ur bag? did you take the battery out before storing? If not and its been stored a bit with the battery in it, it could have got some corrosion on the battery contacts.

If the battery is charged, try cleaning the contacts (both camera and battery) with a pencil erasor... yes this works, just be sure to blow out any eraser flakes before you put the battery in... if none of this works, then looks like a trip to best buy is ur only option...

Good luck
Dave

Buy it some flowers, take it for dinner and a movie, and whisper sweetly in its ear that you love it. If that dosen't work, put an ad on ebay and start courting a 7D..

How do you get a bent CF card pin, doesn't the CF card chassis guide the card down onto to the pins.

I think you'll have to send it back, once the pin is bent it's weakend, as you move it back it will enventually snap off, best get it fixed now under warranty than later.
