Old Harbour Day @ The Catalyst in Santa Cruz

All the band members are from San Diego and all ended up here in Santa Cruz.

This is also my first time using a Speed lite flash!

From the Exif I see you used 1/250s, f/1.8 at ISO 320 for #2, yet I see plenty ambient light. (as can be seen in #1)

I think the images would have been better without flash, using a higher ISO.

If you use flash, I'd gel it to match ambient color temperature (very warm white balance in some now), and drag the shutter a bit. (All images except the first two have flash as main light, which leads to a "bat in the cave" look).

Also, be aware of microphone stands and guitar necks in front of faces and such (#1, 2 and 5) ;)

I kinda like the close up of the hands.

I really dont know what I am doing when it comes to flash units. :)

I was fiddling with the flash to avoid the super dark backgrounds. Was not untill half way through I just started using the 7D with 50mm F1.8
