It is an airstrip not far from OS or me - houses a jump group and apparently, this helicopter. I think we may have to take a shot over to the hanger and offer it up - maybe get a ride or something out of it!

Calling an "airport" is probably way over the top. It's called "The Ranch (external link)"

There is a black chopper here at a training school, I took a really bad picture of it, but it didn't appear to have any (at least large) tail numbers. Is that legal?

Mosephus - This page (external link) says that there are a number of locations on non-fixed-wing aircraft where the numbering can occur. It has occured most often on a tail section and usually is called a "tail number" for this reason - but I can't find anything that specifically states it HAS to be there.
