I'm new to the forum and to photography. Took a few shots of my friend's wedding with my new xsi. Would love some feedback on these shots! Thanks!

Well, I'll be a little nicer. Congrats on your intro to photography and good job at staying out the photographers way. It's good that you were concious of that. Too many people aren't!

1 - Really does nothing for me.. It doesn't really tell a story. Everybody is far away, and your focus is really on the photographers. Plus it's overexposed.

2 - I think this is my favorite one. I like the moment you caught here. It does seem like maybe you've got some motion blur from a low shutter speed. But not a bad shot. :) It might benefit from some cropping. Take out some of hte top and the side with the frame, since it only serves as a distraction.

3 - Definitely motion blur here. Looks like your shutter speed was too low. If you post your settings, we can better help with technical critique.

4 - Looks like a fun moment, I wish that perhaps we could make out the bride's face, but I like the idea of it.

5 - I like the bridesmaids going through the tree, but I agree the photographer back there is a distraction.

6 - I like the idea of the bride among the trees, but her motion is just kind of confusing.

7 - I think this works more than the above one, but the blown bits are a bit of a distraction.

continue to shoot and have fun and hone your technical skills!

I am super cool n' stuff.

taking pictures is about learning and if you dont make the mistakes you never learn, keep shooting and take plenty. :-)

well... the location appears to be beautiful. I'm curious as to how the pro photos came out. :)

and just repeat the above comments as my thoughts.

I see some overexposed and out of focus shots but I love your concept on those last 2 pictures.

You didn't quite hit the exposure right on them and they could use some PP, but I rather like 6 and 7.

The title is apt, they are just snapshots.

I'll just comment on #3..
Watch your background. This picture looks like the speaker balanced on their heads will fall if either one moves. This is a common kind of mistake as people learn how to compose their pictures well.

Your work shows promise.
