Yes, you did. However, you also cited that part of my post referring to compression, then immediately talked about resolution criteria.

You raised the JPEG size issue. I mentioned it only to disavow that a lower resolution or any consideration had anything to do with my conclusion that a better performing computer-based application produced higher quality JPEGs than the camera firmware.

Sometimes, yes. That's why Canon provides multiple JPEG resolutions.

Are you sure?

Anyway, went to a photo workshop, the pro who was lecturing the workshop said, that TIFFs were a processed and yet uncompressed format

Yes, I'm sure. And so is Canon.

I believe I said that.

Don't believe everything an "expert" tells you.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, TIFFs can be compressed or not, it's a choice available to the user. The compression is LZW, which is lossless. Photoshop CS4 also offers ZIP compression, also lossless, but I don't think that's part of the TIFF spec.

Like I said, don't believe the "expert". But don't believe me, either - look for yourself.

Save a file in TIFF format from Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro and you'll be given the option.
