basically my wacom intous3 works like a charm until I need to use it for edits in photoshop cs4. Then it does nothing as a paint brush-hbrush-dodge or burn or any other tool that draws something....

It is all rather strange....

(I am working on a 3 month new lenovo laptop that has enough power to run PSCS4 very well. I have windows 7 as my OS. I am using the latest wacom drivers. PS is up to date & generally I run the non-64 version)

In PSCS4 if I use the tablet to make a brush correction I get nothing (ie. A big, bright red, hard brush, 100% opacity will not show anything on the image) however the history does show the step, but nothing shows up on my image. Now if I use my laptops touchpad to do the same step it works fine...

What is going on?

basically as soon as I need the precision of the tablet I get nothing and am forced to use the laptop touchpad, a terrible tool for PS edits!

Try updating your graphics card driver. Also make sure you're using the latest Wacom tablet drivers.

Are you pressing hard enough? With the lightest touch I can make a large brush barely visible. Have you checked your pressure sensitivity settings in the Wacom control panel?
