After months of reviews and information gathering I selected the 5D Mark II as my upgrade from a 40d. I chose this camera based on my shooting styles of nature, scenic, people and of course birds. Most of my bird photography is the posed variety as opposed to in-flights but I'm sure with the short burst capability I won't be disappointed when I do go after BIFs.
The below are some of my first shots with the camera at the end of last month. These were taken with the Canon EF 300mm f/4.0 L IS USM.

Bill, beautiful! I love my 5D2, and someday, birding will be a must, but just seeing the shots here in the bird forum makes me happy. So beautiful. Congrats!
