I also want to see if I can do HDR with a monopod and my 7d with 8 frames eper second (fast shutter speed). This is more of experimentation.

Thoughts?

Just FYI regarding HDR: I've done plenty of hand-held HDR shots with my old 30D using auto-bracket and continuous shooting with no tripod or monopod. It's pretty easy that way, and I've gotten good results, IMO. Good HDR software like Photomatix will adjust registration during the process.

Does anyone have the 682b. Are those little spider legs annoying??

YES!

I just got this monopod today. Those little spider legs are really heavy and they rattle really loud when hid inside the tube. Already tried to tie them together with some adhesive tape, but they are still pretty loud moving around. The hole where you put them in is smaller than the tube, so it`s not possible to make a tight fit.

I mainly shoot birds and animals so as of now it`s almost useless scaring anything away. I guess I have to cut the legs off. (or send it back) I don`t understand why it`s not designed so that they could be removed or why they don`t even sell an accessory foot without the legs...

I'm not sure if the 682b has this, but on the cup section at the end of the tripod where you slide the legs into and screw close, you may see a series of recessed hex screws.

If you undo these screws you should be able to take the cup section off, remove the legs and replace it with the normal rubber cap

That was a great tip lannes thanks a lot! When I took the cup section off, it was easy to put enough tape to make it a tight fit and now they dont move at all -> no noise! I will be getting a regular rubber cap for it later, so I don`t have to carry those heavy spider legs around when I don`t need them.
