Some still life! Harsh C&C apperciated!

So I'm using a Canon Digital Rebel XT with a Canon EF 55mm f/1.8 II lens. I'm just a beginner, and hope to get some tips and tricks from here that can help improve my photography!

Post to Photobucket and copy the IMG code from there. I always find that the best.

PS: What would the best way for attaching the images here be? Is there a way to attach it as small thumbnails so they get larger when you click them?

You are probably right about the BG and the lighting lol. These are probably some of the first shots I took with my then new DSLR! I just used whatever lighting was in the room, and the background was whatever was on my desk at that moment I was actually more interested in trying out my then new 50mm f/1.8 and looking at the bokeh
