What does "go for a trial" mean? I'm sure that is the question that others were asking and is definitely what I do not understand.

As I understand it, a magazine sent him an e-mail a couple months ago asking him to shot something on a trial basis for them. A successful outing could have led to regular work, but he just read the e-mail now.

I only read the email today, I am still in shock that I missed it

Why is it stupid of me not to see the email? I dunno, because I didn't have internet until the beginning of April, I was wondering why I was so angry with T-Mobile with trying to provide me with internet, because of important emails like this one
