Hmmmm.

Even if they like your work, do you think they might have a "meeting deadlines" problem?

I know what you mean by that, but are the deadlines tight or something? Like half hour after the gig?

I think it was a kind jab at you since you took so long to reply to the e-mail. The magazine would obviously think you have a "meeting deadlines" problem along with a communication problem (can't answer e-mails in a timely manner) ;)

No not a jab, it was a comment related to this thread.. It has taken numerous posts just to figure out what the OP meant in the original post. Some important information was left out and then the post was further obfuscated by random guesses as to what the OP meant.

Not being derogatory toward you.. the post has been confusing due to a lack of information. As some thought it was a subscription for a magazine etc. :D

Half hour? For a magazine? Probably not.

But two months? Also probably not.

I was so shocked by what I saw in my email, that it took about half hour, plus a few post on here to calm down:rolleyes:

Ah, but never said it was two months for a magazine, I should know, because I know people in 'da know' if you get my drift

So tell me, how long is the deadline then? 10 minutes? Surely got to be longer than that, because of editing of photos might take some time

You're being contrary for the sake of being contrary.

Let us just say that, were I a magazine editor, I'd be leery of a photographer's ability to meet deadlines if he/she took two months to respond to an invitation to submit.

Speaking as a writer, when I was given a deadline of "by the end of business on the 10th," anything I submitted on the morning of the 11th was rejected. No argument, no appeal, no exceptions short of hospitalization! And rightly so! A magazine is a business.

I had problems with internet etc..I had move area, and didn't know where an internet cafe was, I had ordered mobile broadband, they gave me hell on earth regarding the order (T-mobile, they said that it was going to be delivered by a Saturday), when I downloaded my email, I had literally hundreds of emails. three weeks of not being able to access emails, whoa, you are not likely to have only one in the inbox am I? Yeah, I do understand that magazines are businesses, that their deadlines are extremely tight..and that one of the perils of only shooting in RAW when deadlines are that tight...is that one photo may hold you back longer than others

Look at it from the magazines perspective. Everything you just said were excuses, and excuses don't sell magazines.

There simply is no acceptable excuse, short of hospitalization, for not responding to an invitation to submit for two months. No excuse. None. Period. End of story.
