Hi, I have only just signed up to this site and this is my first post so appologies if my question has already been asked.

I am wanting to do some 3d photography using 2 canon G9's (the reason for choosing the G9 is that i have recently been given one and they are not too expensive to buy secondhand) before i go ahead and buy a second one i was hoping to find out if it is possible to link them together so one would fire automatically with the same settings as the main camera.

I hope this makes sense and if anyone has any advice on this it would be much appreciated.

Sure.
Do an internet search on SDM + canon.
SDM = 'stereo data maker'

(which is a variant or spinoff of CHDK)

SDM allows you to synchronize shutter release of two cameras very closely. You would still have to set up the cameras' modes and exposures yourself, or learn to program the SDM scripts to do that for you.

G9's... enthusiast and hobby clicker... toying w/ Canon 2x Tele & Raynox .7x Wide.
