G2 software conflicts help pleas4!!!

Hi I have just bought a second hand Powershot G2 yesterday. So far I have managed the camera OK (it's my first digital) When I put the Canon Digital disk in and then loaded.Zoombrowser things weren't so easy. It kept saying it couldn't find the camera. It was a Twain problem (what ever that is!) Anyway after reloading it 3 time I got it to work. I went to bed a happy woman. However this morning when I tried to use Picture it to use my scanner it said and old version of Twain was installed and it wouldn't connect to it. Is ther some way of having both programs running?. Would I be better to take of Zoombrowzer and reload Picture it and would that work with my camera? I also got Adobe Photshop 5.0 with the camera should i load it or will it cause more problems. I am not a real computer buff so all these things are abit daunting to me. Any simple solutions would be great. I would like to be able use the scanner printer and camera if possible.

You can safely load Photoshop LE without affecting things. As for the twain issue - you can try loading the two applications in a different order and see if that sorts things out. Otherwise, you could do as many people do and install a cheap usb card reader. You can then access the images on the memory card just like a floppy or hard disc without having to connect to your camera. I find this much more convenient. You can still use Zoombrowser to read the images via the card reader.
