Welcome to the club. I get a call a week asking for a free wedding or 8 hours of coverage and all the "goodies" for $100. There are those on here who probably get it on a daily basis. One of the reasons I don't advertise on Craigslist.

Unfortunately, this is becoming quite common.

I did like their last comment about the free buffet - like that was going to make you take the job!

Thankfully, I make sure everyone knows I shoot landscapes or motorsports and not people - no chance of them wanting a wedding of me!:D

Surely a free buffet would be enough to entice you?

Only thing that would get me shooting one is if i was getting thousands of pounds for doing it and no chance of being sued at the end for missing shots!

Free food??? Hmmmm, Let me think about that for a while..NO
Have had more clients than I care to remember that wanted something because someone else they knew got it.
Had a bride that wanted a much larger album because her sister in law (who's wedding I had shot a couple years prior) got the size album my client wanted. When I told her that her sister in law paid more than twice what she did for a much larger package, she said she knew that but her sister in law wasn't as good a negotiator as she was. She DID NOT get the larger album.

What grates me the most with some people, for example: The lady that wanted me to do her photography wanted me to copy the same style as our local Pro Wedding photographer!

Now, to me, because i dable with photography i understand more of how not stepping on peoples toes works - but to come out saying she wants the same style and album and even pointed me to other peoples work to copy is a joke! Not only that the guys work is fantastic, and hes a 'Pro' for a reason! Of course i expect its taken him a while to get the 'pro' lable and rightly so!

...to then kick me in nuts, and request i did all of this for 'free' (Ok, the buffet is free) is just mind twisting! To top it all, she felt there was nothing wrong with that at all! Argggh!

like i say, maybe its just me having a better understanding, or alot of people turnt dumb over night?

Even then, you'd wind up regretting it.

The only people I dislike more than pushy brides are their mothers.

The former - but if you want the proper people to blame, blame the banks and governments for the recession that makes everyone (even more) tight with their money and the media for creating the celebraty mindset that (sadly) so many brides to be want to emulate.
Mothers and mothers in law are also dangerous creatures as they strive to groom their daughters into having the dream wedding they never got ;)
