My old site running Pixelpost unceremoniously imploded after I changed its default website, so I moved back to Wordpress. I've added sharing/retweeting functions, am currently working to clean up almost four years of archives and will be adding a purchase function in a few weeks. Be mean; the best feedback is honest feedback:

Your drop down menu for categories doesn't work.

The setup is clean, but if it's possible to be too simple, this definitely is. You might want to add some "flavor" to spice up your site.

I don't really like the location for your categories at the very bottom of the page because it forces you to scroll all the way to the bottom. I think it would work a lot better with some smaller text and putting it in the side column.

I didn't see any of your tweet or subscription functions, but I might have just missed them. For some reason your webpage stopped loading while I was looking around, so I didn't get to see anymore.

I am all for minimalism, but it does seem a bit too empty to me. I am also not a big fan of the left+bottom black border on the images--it seems like an error. Maybe it would work better with a darker background on the site?

Website works again! Now that I've looked at some more...

I like the setup for pages with individual photos. The comments and background/story setup works nicely. I would, however, add that twitter/facebook/email/flickr set of buttons to every page so that your viewers have more chances to subscribe.

I don't like the binary backgrounds (only visible before the image loads?). It makes no sense to me for those to be on your website. Also, the black border on left and bottom does not match the layout. You'd be better of with a drop shadow at the more typical right/bottom location.

Humorously enough, I do have those buttons, although they are obviously too low-key. Click on "share" and "retweet" above each post.

I don't see it on the main page or any of the category pages. I even searched the page for the text "share" and "tweet" but no luck.

Any reason that images fail to load quite frequently?

The sharing links crop up on each given post; just click into them and you'll see, although I will definitely have to give them a higher profile.

I have maybe an idea on the thumbnails (the binary is just a placeholder image) - there is a script creating them dynamically. Let me increase its cache to 1000 images. Performance should improve. There are certain, text-only, posts that don't have a thumbnail but they are very much in the minority.

I replaced the placeholder with something marginally more informative. Will also add sharing links to the main page.

I really like the photos on your site, but I think that thumbnail script is messing you up. Perhaps just a plain black background for the placeholder will work better. "Text" doesn't seem appropriate as they are images. You're on the right track!

30 different categories (all just text links) are far too many to choose from. And what's with all the "TEXT" images? Keep it simple. No need to create a category for just 2 items.
