So I was practicing taking photos of my neighbor's 3 year old daughter, who is cute, but hard to get a real smile from! I shot these in raw and edited them in DPP. I don't have a calibrated monitor so these pics look good to me. So please let me know if these have a blue or green hue to them, if you have a calibrated monitor. Are they over saturated? Over exposed? Do the colors look good? Thanks!!! I will love any c & c, as I am still learning!!! But all in all, I love these shots!!! :) (if anyone wants to re-edit, feel free to do so!!!)

4. And one done in black & white. What do you think????

Brandy :D I'm not claiming to be an awesome photographer, so there's no need to tell me I'm not one, but I am claiming to be a new photographer who's learning and trying to be the best I can be at it ;) My recently new website, which is temporary until I can afford a real one!~ www.free2bemephotography.weebly.com (external link) ~ Currently using a Canon Rebel T1i EOS 500D

Ok, I am getting so frustrated with this site!!! I feel like every picture I post on here isn't good enough for this site! I am learning still!!! I am not a excellent photographer yet. I understand that my photos may not mount up to what most feel a professional photo is suppose to look like, but not all of them look like snap shots, do they???? (I had someone tell me that.) I have had over 40 views of these photos and not one comment or advice. Are that that bad??? I am just frustrated. :( I need advice people for my photos so I can learn!! :)

Don't take it personal. It takes a while to get a response around here sometimes. I think the pictures are nice. I like the bright colors. I think #2 would be better if you hadn't cut off her feet, and her expression wasn't as good, but trust me, I know how hard it is to get a 3 year old to pose:) Other than that, I think you did a good job. You got down on her level which I like, and I like the selective coloring. I think it works well in that photo. Good Job.

Oh thank you so much!!! :) Yes I know it takes a while to get repsonses but I feel like every photo I post, every comment is almost negative!! So I'm like, ahhhhhh!! hehe!!! I am just frustrated mostly that every photo I think looks "professional", someone says it doesn't!! But thanks so much 4 ur nice comments! I too wished I didn't cut out her feet, but next time I'll do better! :)

These are cute! Your daughter is beautiful! I have a 3 year old so I know how tough it can be! lol.

I have gotten that too, but I still like to post cause even with the neg comments I will take those the next time I shoot and try to do better, or something different. Every so often I get some good comments and it makes me feel very good! But if it weren't for the neg comments and criticism I wouldnt have much to go on to improve! People on here know their stuff!! :) Just keep shooting and have fun!! :)

I know how you feel. I actually just switched to lurker mode for a while for that same reason. I don't post much, unless it's a shot that I really need some feedback on or it's one that I particularly like and just want to share it.

As for your shots go, I like the color ones and the fact that her feet are cut off doesn't bother me at all. To me feet aren't the focus (not that it would have been bad if they were in there) and them being missing doesn't detract form the subject. I would however bring up the saturation a bit to add a little "pop" to it.

I don't care for the vignette on the B&W one, it's too harsh, and the color selection emphisizes the wrong element. Flowers are nice but the child should be the focus.

takes forever to get responses around here. lots of people just looking and never comment... are you one of them?

and they appear soft to me. color looks a bit off too but I'm on a junk monitor right now so i can't really tell.

I like 1 the best. My version of it... on my screen your reds look a little too much and it could use a bump in exposure. So, this edit is based off my crappy day job monitor.

Thanks for your comment and advice! I will consider what you said about the selective coloring. This is why I also kept the orginal form as well. You are right, but I just thought it was darn cute!! :)

Hey! Thanks for your advice and your edited verison! My screen is not calibrated so sometimes when I think my photos colors are right, some tell me that their not. Hopefully one day I can get a calibrated monitor!!! As far as asking if I'm one of them who just look and not comment......actually I have commented alot but since I am still learning I feel that my advice won't be as good or as right as someone who has been doing this for years, so I try to leave that up to them to give advice!! But thanks again!! Hope ur day goes great :)
