So I could get a few shots of him. What a challenge! But I managed to get 3 good ones (out of probably 40 tries!) Just thought I'd share my 15-month-old. Taken with my trusty XS and even trustier 50 1.8! (And good ole light from my window.)

Nice colours and I like the window light/catchlight in his eyes. Thanks so much. I guess I never thought of it being slow on focus, but it probably is compared to some other lenses (this is the best lens I've ever had, so can't compare.) Kristin

My 50 has been on my camera since my little one was born 5 months ago. I love love love it with natural light during the day. Not so keen on it at night though.. Yay! Another "Nifty" lover! I'll tell ya, I dropped this thing down my BASEMENT STAIRS and it's still working that well. (However, it was damaged; the ring gets stuck at times, so I will probably need to replace it in due time -- hoping to get a good 2-years out of it first, though. Call me cheap!) tkbslc wrote in post #10162547 Last one is my favorite! Nicely done. Thanks so much! I like that one, too -- his expression kills me. I wondered about cutting off his head like that (though I've done it mindlessly many times), but I read that it's OK; you can cut off tops of heads but not hands and feet. Kristin
