I have tried to download from my 5D2 into a new MacBook pro, the EOS utility starts up and then I click to download and I get a message saying the program shuts shut down...so I end up importing into Aperture 3 the photos from the camera. Any clue or do I have to download an update to 20.1

Thanks

Cheers,
Tony

Bump up...EOS Utility shutting down, I can only import to Aperture from the camera rather than download into photo file using Canon software, any ideas on what is causing this.

Sorry, I don't have a Mac, so I just have a question: do you have the version of the utilities that supports your camera and is up-to-date with the OS? Just asking -- the other suggestion would be to try to un-install and re-install your utilities.

Thanks Tony...I will ask for help from Apple too.

I know there was an update to Aperture 3 to 3.0.1 I think. I got the update prompt yesterday. I have a 2.5GHZ MBP and run with Aperture 3, CS4 and DPP at the same time, and have not had any problems. Just make sure you get all the software updates, even on the Canon site.

You need to update the Canon software. Earlier versions were incompatible with Snow Leopard (if that's what you're using).

You can also select which app to run when a camera is connected using the Image Capture app in your Applications folder.

"Raw" is not an acronym, abbreviation, nor a proper noun; thus, it should not be in capital letters.

Thanks, I updated the utility and DPP, still have to update the browser. I also updated the 5d2 firmware to ver.4. It seem to work now. Good advice. Thanks
