I'm looking at Batteries on eBay for my 7d. I see them for sale with 2 batteries and a charger for $20.

Not sure this is a good idea!!!

Whats a good 3rd party battery?

Where to buy?

Thanks

There currently aren't any 3rd party batteries that I know of which have the "chip" Canon's LP-E6 batteries have. This means the battery indicator and the Canon charger won't work with them (hence the 2 batteries and a charger; you'll need it to be able to charge them).

So the camera won't be able to give you a charge status when using them either right?

Thanks

I don't know about the LP-E6 specifically, but I've bought batteries from SterlingTek after seeing them recommended online at various forums.

I would only buy from SterlingTek or Diamondback.
