Very nice lighting! Maybe next time, take a spray bottle filled with water and give the flowers a few squirts of mist... Might add a little something to the finished shot...

Thanks all. This was lit by the sun coming through a large pine in the front yard. It was perfectly shining on this flower while shaded all around. Which helps it pop some.

Jack - I thought about the water bottle thing after I got this on my PC and saw the few drops on there. Great idea. Always learning - eh?

No one thinks the background is too dark? I liked it that way but wondered what you folks would think.

Thanks again - jriley.

I like it dark, in fact I wouldn't mind seeing this with the green to the lower left cloned out.

I definitely would try to get rid of the green part but I have no clue how. Currently I am using DPP only. I have GIMP but have not used it yet. My guess is this is what I could use to clone out the green right? Or any other sw like elements and such?

The green is fine, it shows where the flower is coming from, and have you tried another crop? Too much space on the side perhaps.a square crop could work. I might have steeped the exposure down, the tops of the flower are this side of losing detail.

Excellent shot - the "pop" gives a nice 3D look to the flower. I agree with Flo on the crop - either try square or maybe a vertical instead of horizontal rectangular crop (but don't leave the main subject right in the middle, however you do it).

Some Canon stuff and a little bit of Yongnuo.
