So there are a handful of knock off grips on eBay now for the T2i (looks like a couple vendors selling the same thing), just wondering if anyone has purchased one yet? They also have kits that come with batteries and they say that they charge in the Canon chargers... maybe worth the extra $10-20 for a couple spares. Thoughts?

Also, where are the Canon grips made? If they are made in the USA, I will definitely pay the extra money for them since I like to support American manufacturing. If they are made in Japan... maybe. If they are made in China, then they can F-off and I will buy the ripoffs. Thanks!

Did you know that China has Billions and Billions of dollars invested into the U.S.? So, by supporting China, you are actually supporting yourself?

Sorry to be off-topic. :)

I bought all my grips from Canon, some of the 3rd party grips do not have all the controls the genuine articles have. That being said I bought all my lens hoods on Ebay from chinese sites primarily for their prices compared to Canons

I bought my 50d grip off eBay. No complaints and it even came with a IR remote (which is tricky to use). There's several threads on this here, so try a search and you'll get your answer.

I did an exhaustive search, but since the T2i is so new (as is the grip for it) there is little info on the copycat grips. Not all generic brands are the same. I know that for a lot of goods, cheap Chinese knockoffs come from the same factories as the originals. Stolen IP basically. But that is the price you pay for doing business in China. And I don't mind ripping off the big companies that manufacture over there. That is their own bad!

Did you know that China has Billions and Billions of dollars invested into the U.S.? So, by supporting China, you are actually supporting yourself?

There are so many things wrong with this statement, I don't even know where to begin... so I won't!

Can you show us some pictures? I want to see the fitment and finish. Is the finish way off compared to the body? How does it sit on the body? I am contemplating if i should fork the extra hundred or so on a genuine canon grip. Thanks!
