Well I think I figured out that its the card reader and it corrupted the disks. I was unable to format them on my computer but the camera formatted them fine. So I hope they're still usable. I'm gonna go out now to get a new card reader and run some tests. Thank you so much for your help everyone!

Wait...you are using your camera to format the same damaged CF cards that contain your inaccessible wedding pics?

If so, I hope you recovered your wedding pics off of them first. If not (and assuming you still want to recover them) then don't use those CF cards again and go out and take some new images. The new data will overwrite the data you were trying to recover and make it impossible to now recover.

I'm glad you seemed to isolate what was causing your cards to be corrupted, I too had a bad card reader mess up a card, but I sincerely hope you have a firm grasp on what you are doing with those corrupted cards by formatting them and trying to re-use them before you retrieve the lost wedding pics.

Hope everything continues to smooth out for you!

Well I did have 99% of the stuff backed up through lightroom so thankfully I think everything will be ok :)

LR doesn't store your images, it simply references their specific location on a hard drive (either internal drive or external).
So apparently you were able to successfully download your images from the corrupted cards and store them on a hard drive? If so, then GREAT! Hope your new reader works for you!

How did you get the pics off the corrupted cards?
