The flowers are in full bloom at the Painted Hills. Apparently they're about 2 weeks late this week. Apparently there are a LOT of flowers. I would so love to go there this weekend. Not sure it's really a day trip though.

Busy, busy, busy. Furniture hauling to Vermont starts 0600 hours Thursday and I've got a ton of things to do before then.

We've mapped out our course. It turns out we have to go through Reno, so first day to Reno, second day to someplace in southwest Wyoming, 3rd day takes us to mid Nebraska, 4th day to somewhere near the south of Chicago, 5th day to Erie, PA, 6th day to Burlington, Vermont. My only concern is that we travel from the Chicago area to Erie PA on Monday which is Memorial Day. I have visions of miles of backed up freeway/tollway traffic, but hopefully I'm wrong about that.

Enjoy the drive, I envy it!

Wow, that's an aggressive schedule!

Did you call Sid aggressive?

Wonders if Sid is mastiff like passive, drooly aggressive?

Or pitbullish like aggressive?

Wonders how fish actually "wear" aggressive?

How do they posture? Is it like cowboy posturing? Gang posturing? Politician-like?

GAH!! *feels like she no longers knows the fish*

ooh that sounds lovely. Not a day trip though. Not in my opinion. Scotlet did it in one day. Up at 2:30 a.m. got there for sunrise, shot what he wanted and headed home.

Cool trip. Expect traffic, make it part of the trip. It means you can look around more ;)

wow, do you worry about shooting (with your gear) in the rain? I've never really pushed mine like that. 'pears to be a lot of rain there...

I am a bit insane, I dunno. I have never worried about my tools or equipment. That does not mean I don't care for it and I don't abuse it on purpose but I have never had trepidation about pushing all of my stuff to the extreme. I have broken and blown stuff up but I enjoy it:lol: Back when we used to four wheel I got everywhere because I was willing to take that extra risk to the vehicle and just go for what I believed I could do. It is not bravery and is probably closer to stupidity but I enjoy my stuff like that:lol:
The 1Ds and 70-200 are sealed so I did not worry. The 30D had the 24-70 which is a sealed lens but not the body. It also had the 580ex on it which I saturated, there is still water in the LCD but I have done that before, it gets better. Everything seems fine *shrug*
I actually had a nice day, it was an adventure, a bit of a risk or something

poppie guy wrote in post #10234511 (external link)
I don't envy you shooting in the rain. Nice work though, and I'm sure the riders and their families appreciate your photos.

Thanks Mike
