It is a budged disk that pushes a nerve. Most the time it is fine but it flares up really bad.

My wife had that. She was a dancer and hurt her back bad. They called it a herniated disk. She needed surgery to make it better.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

Is there any permanent cure though?
I really know little about back issues other then the congenital condition I have where two discs are fused together giving me a kink in my spine.

and Zane, after PT they pack me in heat...go figure?

Is your issue the same as Zane's?

I have a herniated disc and 2 bulging discs, I prefer to treat it with PT at the moment.

I was just showing the tile work I did. :p
My FIL did most of the cutting for all the border pieces when he was visiting.

Hi peoples. :)

We got Vikki today. She didn't get along to well with her foster family's dog.
She's doing great here... she is 'love aggressive' but not nearly as bad as Bailey was. If I'm loving on her and one of the other dogs comes close, she will growl. She's been corrected a couple times, and I think she gets that it's not acceptable.

We'll see. ;) She's a sweetheart.

I'm amazed at how good you are with dogs. I remember the video where you were feeding snacks to a bunch of dogs and the one on the right kept reaching in rather than wait his turn. My little dogs would never wait like that. When it comes to getting treats they remind me of the little bunny that lived in the cave in the Monty Python Holy Grail movie.

A bulged disk is like a grape squished but still intact. A herniated one has squished. I actually have a bunch of bulged ones but it is one in my lower back that presses a nerve.

It is permanent but there is surgical stuff they can do. It is best to avoid back surgery if you can. PT could help. I, like half of humans, have what is called degenerative disk disease.

Crissa has the same as me but has a herniated disk as well.

Cat is a natural with them.

That's where hers was. I believe it was called the L5 vertebrae.

Sorry you have the back problems. Sometimes my back goes out and it takes 2 or 3 weeks to get back to normal. Usually the first day is so bad that I can hardly move without pain. I'm very grateful that it hasn't happened in the past couple of years.

And since you had to post the word degenerative, do do you think it's some kind of a degenerative disease that makes Jim post self portraits nude, semi nude, in the bubble bath, and cross dressed?

I have no idea what number mine are, but there are certainly things I cannot do, and times when it is better to drop to my knees and re-do than to attempt to stand back up. Lately, driving in the car is most uncomfortable so I try to do it as little as possible.
