That's where hers was. I believe it was called the L5 vertebrae.

I forget which is my bad one

Sorry you have the back problems. Sometimes my back goes out and it takes 2 or 3 weeks to get back to normal. Usually the first day is so bad that I can hardly move without pain. I'm very grateful that it hasn't happened in the past couple of years.

And since you had to post the word degenerative, do do you think it's some kind of a degenerative disease that makes Jim post self portraits nude, semi nude, in the bubble bath, and cross dressed?

Thanks Mike
:lol::lol::lol:

I have no idea what number mine are, but there are certainly things I cannot do, and times when it is better to drop to my knees and re-do than to attempt to stand back up. Lately, driving in the car is most uncomfortable so I try to do it as little as possible.

That^ The car is killing me. There really are a lot of times I am fine but when it is pushing that nerve I am aching bad. Compared to many with serious back issues I am lucky.

I'm amazed at how good you are with dogs. I remember the video where you were feeding snacks to a bunch of dogs and the one on the right kept reaching in rather than wait his turn. My little dogs would never wait like that. When it comes to getting treats they remind me of the little bunny that lived in the cave in the Monty Python Holy Grail movie.

ROFLOL! It's got big nasty teeth.

Sorry for the back sufferers here. Count me in as well, but nothing compared to bulging and herniating.

They are beautiful Cat.

Jon - Nice rodent photos.

RANT *hates Credit card company right now. Made a payment the day I got the statement, and it went into limbo - then I go charged a late fee. When I called to dispute the charge, I was asked to put my mother on the phone to gain permission to speak to me. I told her that it was my account not my mother's, and that my mother has nothing to do with this account and never had. It turns out that when you make your payment the day the statement is issued, they consider it an extra payment, and not credited towards the amount due, thereby making it late. Spoke to a supervisor, late fee should be removed, and I need to make my payments at least 2 days after the statement is sent to my email* RANT OVER - although I am still not happy with them. The original person was a PITA and did not want to listen to what I was saying.

Ugh, I'm sorry they're attempting to screw with you. Lemme at 'em. :)

Some new photos of our little Paxton:

He's got a vet appt in the AM to take care of some things we're worried about (lumps and bad skin, among other things). He'll get neutered too if he doesn't have any infections.
Poor little guy. I hate getting them neutered when they seem so frail to start with.

Aww, he's a cutie! "We" (read: Amy) has a HUGE mastiff in right now. She took Deter home for the weekend too cuz he has a home visit. Funny combo. :)

Hi Chris.

I am excited about this race tomorrow. It is a really big deal as part of the Preakness weekend and will get national and world coverage. I will be thrilled if I can get passes to cover the Preakness.

That is WICKED cool Zane! If you ever need a tagalong....(even though I realize that's a slim chance, lol)

For size reference, those spiney things are about as big as my finger.

That's pretty wild!

I really must share:

Earlier this week, I messed up a quick setting in one of my senior's galleries, long story short it caused the customer's order to go in with bad crops on 2 of their prints, as I had turned off the proof days.

I contacted SmugMug to see what had happened not remembering at the time what I had done a few hours before. The next morning it occurred to me what I had done and Smuggy's customer service gave several scenarios, their final question asking if I wanted to have the order canceled. I told them know, I had reordered the prints myself with the corrected crops and would get them to the customer.

They came back and asked me what my order was and reversed all the charges. Even though it was my error. That my friends is exceptional customer service.

Oh, and their new coupon option, rocks for us.

I've also had really great luck with them...prompt and they'll often fix an error for me if I'm able to describe it correctly.

So last night I took my wife to see the Boston Pops - celebrating 125 years in action, but this week was specially conducted by John Williams. He was doing a "Hooray for Hollywood" night all week long, and holy moly, was it super-fantastic-über-make-your-hairs-stand-up good. He did a bunch of old hollywood scores that were sensational, so I would heartily recommend that if you get the chance to see him conduct, do it!

Oh neat! Glad you had a good time!

Is there any permanent cure though?
I really know little about back issues other then the congenital condition I have where two discs are fused together giving me a kink in my spine.

Is your issue the same as Zane's?

Try a nice hot bubble bath, I would highly recommend.

I have 3 crushed vertebrae....T-6, 7 and 8....with spinal cord impingement at T-8. Surgical repair is not on the table at the moment, because of the impingement at T-8. As things are....I have fairly good mobility on occasion and decent mobility most of the time. All the surgeons are afraid that the repair process is more likely to have an adverse effect on the impingement....so instead of having some pain, tingling and occasional loss of full function...there is about an 80% chance of it going the wrong way....leading to possible paralysis.

Even if the surgery were successful, there is no guarantee that it would provide any pain relief or increased mobility. Given all that encouraging news....I think you can see why I haven't had a burning desire to try surgical intervention.

Hell....ain't a darn thing to be done about it...so I just try to make the best I can out of things. I know the pain that you and Crissa experience and it is beyond compare. It is so frustrating when someone with a healthy back says...."I know just how you feel". They really, really haven't a clue.

I don't envy anyone that has back issues...
