The small place charges a lot more but they can take the time and pay attention to the details. SOme of the bakeries here are simply awesome. I frequent the mom.pop type bakeries whenever possible. Not sure why, but call me JJ.

We use to have a Portuguese bakery here that had Malazadas, sort of a thin skinned doughnut, but different type of dough, more like an elephant ear.
