Amos is in da house.
He is very very anxious, and scared of almost everything, but under that he is VERY sweet and loving.
He LOVES to play fetch. And has a 'fetch bark' to rival Maggie. Really.
As of yet, he won't come in the house. That's ok. We've just left the back door open, and left him with the option to come in when he's ready.

He's beautiful. I wonder what he is mixed with?

what a pretty dog.
He's got a bit of a scary look to him though (it's the eyes I think). I really hope you will be able to get him and Vicki adoptable!

He is so scared. He's the one that bit me the first day we took him out of his kennel at the shelter (didn't break the skin... he was just terrified)

He's an Australian Shepherd.

Chief, it's your life...you don't owe us explanations or even accounts of it if you don't want to. Have fun and enjoy yourself.

Not so. He left without prior approval. No forms were submitted and no one granted the request. The Tribunal will not be pleased.

Oh, I love this. Though 18 footers are big, they get much bigger up here. It takes a certain kind of insanity to be a coxswain on one of those.

I'll bet they go out when the surf comes up just for the fun of it... Actually it's good training.

I have a lot of respect for the Coast Guard, especially the guys that go out in any kind of weather to perform rescues. The ones that jump out of helicopters into the Bering Sea to rescue the crab fishermen are the ones that amaze me. Massive huevos...

I've always wanted to go out on one of them during heavy seas training. There was actually a waiting list for those of us that wanted to go "play", but my number never came up. :(

G'MAE, All.

A random observation that came to mind last week:

I've had many dogs throughout my life. But, there was only one who I got as a puppy. Muffin was about six weeks old when I got him. When I took him to the vet for his first check-up and shots, I tucked him into my shirt pocket and drove him there on my motorcycle... Honestly, he was that small. Every other dog I've called mine was at least two years old when I brought them home.

Cats, on the other hand, are different... I'm allergic to 'em. My allergies were very bad when I was young, and even today I still have pretty bad flare-ups. But, about 25 or so years ago I became brave enough, or stupid enough, or I just didn't care about my own health enough, and I brought this tiny kitten home. I fell in love with the little guy... Since then I've had about a half dozen cats (and enough boxes of Kleenex to keep the company solvent), but there was only one cat that I adopted as an adult. All of the others were kittens when I got 'em.

And, I don't remember where I was going with this...

Yeah, no bobbing here. My brother owns a boat that he spends more than 50% of his time on and I've never been aboard!! I am the only person I know who can get seasick watching a boat move on the water while I am on SOLID ground!

I'm with ya on that, Crissa!!! I can also make myself car sick when I'm driving.

According to the vacation request I submitted, I'm supposed to be headed back to work this Thursday, the 20th. But, when I checked the schedule last week on my last day at work, it was all jumbled up and confusing. There were two schedules posted. One showed me returning on the 20th and the other said I was due back on Monday the 24th. So, this morning I sent an email to my supervisor asking which was correct, hoping she screwed up and I don't have to go back until the 24th.

I just got a reply. She said she isn't expecting me back until the 27th! Woohoo! I have an extra week off! :D

Now, I'm thinking I need to squeeze in another road trip somewhere before my time off is through. But, where should I go?

Kewl!!!! Congrats on the extra time off!

Ok guys, I need an opinion, please...be honest, and brutal. The lighting was harsh, harsh, harsh...the images are far from perfect, but would YOU be embarrassed to show them to a client? I'm considering offering a reshoot.

The lighting is very harsh. That would be a very kewl shot done at sunset. However, it's not to bad as is, I kinda like it!!:)

um...that it's easier to put a 6 week old puppy in your pocket than a dozen cats?

or...that it's easier to take a dog on a motorcycle than blowing 12 dozen cats noses with kleenex?

or...that you no longer wear shirts with pockets so you must get cats?

Maybe some other time, then.

Yeah...

We'd love to have you here, but we just don't trust Buddy's reaction towards other dogs and we'd be worried he'd go after Minnie.

Hmmm.... All of my shirts still have pockets, so it isn't that last one. And, the Kleenex is for my own nose, not the cats'.

Must be the first option, I suppose...
