Amos is inside!!
It took him FOREVER to creep across the kitchen tile, but he made it!
Then we made him cross it again to go back outside, and then the second time in, he walked right across it and followed me into the living room!

WOOT!

Yay, Kit:)

Hey Chris, I had a humming bird attack a spider web by the feeder today. Do you know what that was about? Protecting the feeder or picking bugs from the web? It looked like he was opening his mouth wide then flying to the strand and cutting it. I had a parula, only one I ever saw, picking bugs from spider webs around the house.

He's sitting right next to me panting like he just ran a marathon. We'll see if he calms enough to lay down.

That has to be SO frustrating for him :( I am glad they are on to something.

I think he actually gets more frustrated with us, lol. The boy is super smart, I have to remind myself that he really is only 2.

I'm sorry T. But it is good to know what's going on.

It is!

I've known quite a few apraxic kids Terri, all of them are doing well and thriving after some early intervention, I hope it works well for your nephew.

That is good to know, I saw that the recovery rate is quite good with young children.

Here's to hoping for a quick recovery now that they know what it is.

Thankee!

I just got a reply. She said she isn't expecting me back until the 27th! Woohoo! I have an extra week off! :D

Now, I'm thinking I need to squeeze in another road trip somewhere before my time off is through. But, where should I go?

Hooray!!

Amos is in da house.
He is very very anxious, and scared of almost everything, but under that he is VERY sweet and loving.
He LOVES to play fetch. And has a 'fetch bark' to rival Maggie. Really.
As of yet, he won't come in the house. That's ok. We've just left the back door open, and left him with the option to come in when he's ready.

Awww *skritch*

A little girl I taught a couple years ago has apraxia. She's doing great! She's in 1st grade now and coming right a long. It's been a looooooong road for her and her family but she's making progress... she's ALWAYS been smart as a tack just couldn't tell ya about it! Having a name for something always feels somehow more powerful and like you now have something in sight to work on overcoming!

Dark chocolate of choice to share today is chili & lime! *sets plate of chocolates on table*

Thanks for the feedback, Jenn. I will pass this on to my sis.

Yeah, no bobbing here. My brother owns a boat that he spends more than 50% of his time on and I've never been aboard!! I am the only person I know who can get seasick watching a boat move on the water while I am on SOLID ground!

Me too Crissa

According to the vacation request I submitted, I'm supposed to be headed back to work this Thursday, the 20th. But, when I checked the schedule last week on my last day at work, it was all jumbled up and confusing. There were two schedules posted. One showed me returning on the 20th and the other said I was due back on Monday the 24th. So, this morning I sent an email to my supervisor asking which was correct, hoping she screwed up and I don't have to go back until the 24th.

I just got a reply. She said she isn't expecting me back until the 27th! Woohoo! I have an extra week off! :D

Now, I'm thinking I need to squeeze in another road trip somewhere before my time off is through. But, where should I go?

Cool - have fun and enjoy the time off.

Oh, and that is him after grooming. He's been sleeping in his own pee for a long time at the shelter. He was so scared to come out of his kennel, that most of the volunteers wouldn't walk him.

Let's just say that he smells MUCH better now.

I know that if anyone can help him overcome his shyness, it will be you
