Folks,

If shooting with a 70-200 lens in a monopod with say body and grip hanging off it.....would I be better switching image stabilser off ?

I understand you do when on a tripod !

On a monopod I'd leave IS on.

Depends on what you are shooting.
For tracking a moving target, if I am getting fast shutter speeds well in excess of hand holding limits, I will usually turn IS off.

Ditto. A monopod is far from being a stable platform.

I leave the stabilization on. I generally use a monopod when shooting slow, under 1/20 second, so I use the mono and stabilization to get all the help I can.

Have Fun,
Jeff
